NoneLouder.com Interview

Interview by Iann Robinson

1.) What's new in the world of Bounty Hunter?
Well let's see, toilet paper, hand towels, Twink The Uber Screener's on a diet, El Jefe shaved his beard, Ball 'o Tan hurt his arm in a freak drunken bike debacle, and C2 has finally landed a place besides his parent's couch.

2.) Who comes up with the insane designs for your stuff?
Scott and Tareq mostly. But on occassion a few other of our fellow heathens have thrown their proverbial hats into the ring of supreme design quality.

3.) Do you get a lot of shit about the shirts, has there ever been real trouble?
No, no real trouble to speak of. We hear a little here and there about our shirts, but for the most part people leave us alone. We still get the occassional heckler or preacher telling us we suck, but we actually do kind of suck so it's nice that people are at least honest sometimes. But yeah, society as a whole is getting pretty desensitized now to all this. I mean today while you're sitting there sipping your coffee before work starts you can watch everything from an Infidel's beheading to a German Shepard having a threesome with two Ukrainian girls in a grassy meadow. Times are changing, people, and it's beautiful. Isn't it?

4.) How did guys get your start? How do you keep yourselves afloat?
Umm, money, and money. Simply having the will to survive only helps you stay alive for so long, then it gets difficult. All that leftist liberal whining about how money makes the world go 'round actually turned out to be true. Go figure.

5.) How did you guys get involved with all the metal bands who sport your stuff? Who were you nervous to meet and why?
Most of the connections to bands came from a simple email or a phone call, friend of a friend, etc. We're always happy to meet the bands we endorse and most of the time everyone's super cool and very polite. In fact, now that I think about it, you almost kind of wish they weren't so nice and polite. I mean just once it would be cool if one of these evil satanic bands just fucking plowed through the front door and stormed into the office demanding free clothes, holding us all hostage with big swords and torches, screaming at us in some dead Viking language. That would be fuckin rad. But no, instead a lot of the satanic bands thank us from the bottom of their hearts and sometimes even leave smiley faces at the end of their emails. Evil, my ass.

6.) Is there ever a shirt that you look at and go "Nope, too far" and scrap it?
Of course. In fact the list of shirts we've scraped for being unmarketable is quite an impressive collection of witty genius, just on a completely different level. If everyone witnessed the designs scattered across the cutting room floor every time a new catalog came out, it's quite possible our sparkling public image would be tarnished with controversy and scandal. People just wouldn't understand.

7.) Has a recording artist ever refused to wear your stuff? Who and why?
No one's ever refused to wear the stuff, but we've had a few shirts sent back to us. Like a couple bands were way into the gun stuff but said the satanic stuff and the drug stuff wasn't cool so they'd just send it back or give it away to the roadies or something. Some people like our stuff across the board, others are more specific. No need to name the bands, because if I remember right the guys that were picky were kind of big dudes.

8.) Pop culture trend you hate the most?
T-shirts. Come on people, enough already.

9.) Top 5 Desert Island records?
Despise You 'West Side Horizons' Eyehategod 'Take As Needed For Pain' Whitehouse 'Cruise' The Wedding Present 'Bizarro' Gun Club 'Fire of Love'

10.) Celebrity you'd most like to slap around for an hour or so and why?
Violence doesn't solve anything.

11.) What bands are moving you right now?
Tiny Casket. Unicorn. Geronimo. Blowupnihilist. Dainty Viscera.

12.) Why do you think Bounty Hunter has stuck around so long?
The People keep Bounty Hunter alive, when you really think about it. Specifically the people of Uruguay and Zambia, both being our two strongest markets. We do okay here in The States but it's the foreign cash that keeps us going. You don't have to print that, a lot of people don't even know that.

13.) What do you want Crom's legacy to be?
Knighthood.
